Why Do I Need Employment Documents?
From April 2020, the largest reform in employment legislation was introduced, called The Good Work Plan.
This means it is the law to ensure you have provided your employees with the full and correct documentation on day 1 of their employment with you.
It is not just employees who are entitled to receive a written document setting out their basic terms, the right has been extended to workers too.
As of the 6th of April 2020, employees and workers are entitled to any Written Particulars from day one of employment.
At NORI HR & Employment Law we create bespoke employee documentation, relevant to your company.

Why Do We Need Shareholder and Director Agreements?

Employment Contracts – Our HR professionals can sit down with you and design bespoke employment contracts for part-time and full-time employees that you are hiring. Your bespoke employment contract, it will outline the main responsibilities, duties, and employee rights. Written employment contracts are highly recommended to avoid any potential loopholes or pitfalls further down the line. Further information that is clearly outlined in an employment contract will include holiday entitlement, hours of work, job title, job description, notice periods, and pension schemes available.
Employee Handbooks – Also commonly referred to as an employee manual, an employee handbook is another highly recommended type of employment document. An employee handbook should clearly define the company’s values, mission, and policies for new employees that you hire. Although no business is legally obligated to have a handbook, the vast majority have companies that have one. Employee handbooks are beneficial for improving the onboarding process, outlining company culture, and preventing potential legal disputes.
Employee Policies – This type of document can either be written within the employee handbook or separately. There are set policies that should be clearly outlined that are required for employees. These main policies required include;-
- Disciplinary & Dismissal Policy – You must outline your detailed disciplinary and dismissal policy. The policy set out must be strictly followed and available to employees.
- Grievance Policy – Another written policy that should set out the key steps that you and your employee(s) should follow to resolve conflict within the workplace.
- Health and Safety Policy – This type of policy is a legal obligation if you have over 5 employees. A clear health and safety policy should be in place.
