Find out more about Community Solutions
Since lockdown began Community Solutions have seen a 704% Increase in weekly Telephone Befriending Calls made and the number of people supported through Telephone Befriending has Increased by 340%.
Deborah Clark, the CEO of Community Solutions stated, “We are really thankful to Jason and all the team at NORI HR for their continued support, which goes a long way to helping people in our local community to live healthier, better lives”.
“We are thrilled that Jason is finally able to complete this race, after it was cancelled last year due to covid, and 70 miles is certainly a huge challenge! There will be some fantastic prizes on offer in the sweepstakes so it’s definitely worth a go, and even if you don’t get the time right you can know you have helped Jason and ourselves to support someone in need.”
Leanne Taylor, the Enterprise Development Manager said “We know Jason is up for the challenge of the Ultra Marathon and we are really glad that he chose to raise funds for us on this occasion”.
“We really hope that local businesses will get behind Jason and support his fundraising mission by donating some great prizes and by entering the sweepstake. Every penny raised will go directly back into our local community, supporting people who are lonely, socially isolated or in crisis”.
“The coronavirus pandemic has given us all a glimpse into the feelings of loneliness and isolation, but for many of our participants this has been a daily battle for much longer and without our help would continue well into the future too. We believe that nobody should ever feel alone, and with support from our fantastic patrons we are one step closer to achieving this.”
This isn’t the first time Jason has ran for charity. Several years ago, Jason ran 4 marathons in a month for Francis House Children’s Hospital. Jason has decided to run this Ultra Marathon because he enjoys setting himself a challenge as he stated, “This will be my furthest run, my previous was 42.6 miles in Wales”.
Jason is definitely putting in the hard work whilst training for this marathon. We asked Jason how he’s staying motivated whilst training in these harsh winter months, Jason replied “By trying to forget that I am doing something this crazy haha. All joking aside, knowing that any money I raise is going towards such a great cause keeps me training hard!”
Jason, a father, husband and business owner, has many challenges to balance in his day to day life. We asked how difficult it would be balancing training, having a family and running a business , he replied, “It’s very difficult, I know that I have to put in the miles on my legs or I won’t be able to finish the race at all, let alone in a target time. At the same time, I don’t want to lose focus on the positive drive the business is currently going through, or miss precious moments with my family and my growing daughter.”
