Work Christmas Party Policy
The Work Christmas Party season is finally here!
For HR Managers, Business Owners and Departmental Managers, the Work Christmas Party can be a night of dread. For employees, this could be the one night of the year they have been waiting for. It’s time to let their hair down, get away from their normal working environment and get to know their colleagues better.
After 2 years of lockdowns and company Christmas Party cancellations, this Christmas Party season has the potential to be a good one (or a disastrous one). Whilst most employees will enjoy the night as it is intended, some employees may take their festive celebrations too far. But don’t worry, this won’t spoil the fun. It’s just good to have a policy in place especially if you are managing a larger workforce.
Is your company planning a Christmas Party?
You need to make sure that all your employees are fully aware of what is acceptable behaviour and what isn’t, and the consequences involved if they don’t comply.
From alcohol to drugs, peer pressure to just letting off some steam, or posting pictures and videos of colleagues on social media, it’s easy for employees to lose self-control.
To avoid embarrassment, uncomfortable work atmospheres, disciplinaries or sackings, Dawn Hughes Senior HR Advisor at NORI HR and Employment Law has created a Christmas Party Company Memo you can download free of charge. We recommend this is circulated to all members of staff well ahead of the event and as a reminder within 24 hours of your Christmas Party.
The Christmas Party Memo covers before, during and after the event to ensure everyone is clear of their responsibilities whilst also being able to enjoy the event.
Simply request your Work Christmas Party Memo using the form below.
We hope you all have a safe and enjoyable Christmas Party and festive season.
